Coiled Pot - Summer Fun Workshop

This workshop is for up to 4 people.

It will give you the opportunity to make a coiled bowl or vase.

During the first part of the workshop I will demonstrate in stages, how to roll out coils of clay, then, how to join the coils using a combination of ‘scratch and slip’ and pinching. I will guide you through how to create the shape you would like, how to smooth the surface or create texture, and also how to add handles or decoration such as sprigs.

After the workshop, your pot will be bisque fired, I will then glaze your pieces with a glaze selected during the workshop and fire again to 1200°C.

Finished items can be collected in approximately 3 to 6 weeks (depending on weather/drying conditions). Postage will not be possible for this workshop as coiled items are often heavy.

This is a 3 hour workshop and will run from 10am – 1pm.
