Ceramic Wall Shelf Workshop

This workshop will give you the opportunity to make a ceramic wall shelf for your home. You will be able to display treasured items on your shelf making it a beautiful addition to your space.

During the first part of the workshop I will demonstrate in stages how to make a wall shelf, so that we can work together through the various processes.

When your shelf has been constructed you will be able to spend time smoothing and refining until you are happy with the result.

After completing your shelf you will be able to choose from a selection of glazes that I will apply to your piece after bisque firing. Alternatively, you might wish you paint with coloured slips and have a transparent glaze finish.

After the workshop, your shelves will be bisque fired to 950°C. I will then glaze your pieces with either a transparent glaze or the glaze you selected, and fire again to 1250°C.

Finished shelves can be collected in approximately 3 to 6 weeks (depending on weather/drying conditions) I cannot offer postage for shelves due to the size of them.

The workshop will run from 10am – 4pm with a half hour stop for lunch at 12:30.

Tea, coffee, and biscuits will be provided but please bring your own lunch.
