Ceramic Clock Workshop

Ceramic Clock Workshop

This workshop will give you the opportunity to make a ceramic clock for your home.
The clocks will be made from a white bodied stoneware clay using the slab building method.
You will be able to choose from a selection of templates or alternatively, I can help you to create your own.
Clocks can be free standing or wall mounted.

During the first part of the workshop I will demonstrate in stages, how to roll slabs of clay, cut sections using your chosen template, and join together using the scratch and slip technique.
You will then be able to decorate your clock using coloured slips and underglazes.

Clock mechanisms can be selected on the day ready to insert once your clock has been fired.
Finished clocks will be fired to bisque temperature and then glazed with a shiny transparent glaze and fired again to 1200ºC.

I will also provide a sheet of gold effect leaf or silver leaf, for you to be able to add a bit of extra shine to your piece once you have taken it home.

Finished clocks can be collected in approximately 3 to 6 weeks (depending on weather/drying conditions) or posted for a P&P cost of £15.

The workshop will run from 10am – 4pm with a half hour stop for lunch at 12:30.

Cost £120

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided but please bring your own lunch.
