Christmas Decorations Workshop

This workshop will give you the opportunity to make a selection of Christmas hanging decorations for your home. They also make great gifts for family and friends.

To make these decorations we will be combining two making techniques, lino cutting and ceramics.

During the first part of the workshop I will demonstrate how to design and cut your lino creating the shape and texture for your decorations.
We will then roll slabs of porcelain to press the lino into and so create porcelain relief decorations.
Decorations can then be painted using a wide choice of slip and underglaze colours.

Finished decorations will be fired to bisque temperature and then glazed with a shiny transparent glaze and fired again to 1200ºC.

A handout will be provided with ideas for further embellishing your decorations once you have taken them home, including gold and silver leaf, acrylic gold pens and gold wax gilt. 

Finished decorations can be collected in approximately 3 weeks or posted for a P&P cost of £10. 

The workshop will run from 10am – 4pm with a half hour stop for lunch at 12:30.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided but please bring your own lunch.
